We’re B Corp certified, baby!

Ok before we put our party hats on and for the benefit of people who may be thinking ‘erm, what does that actually mean?’ allow us to break it down real quick.

Certified B Corporations are a new kind of (better) business that balance purpose and profits.

Under the B Corp certification, we must always consider the impact of our decisions on our teams, customers, suppliers, community and the environment. Organisations that attain a B Corp certification can safely be recognised as a changemaker that are driving the global movement of people using business as a force for good.

And Goodtel, Australia’s ethical telco, is now one of them.

B Corp Certification doesn’t just say whether our award winning nbn™ and mobile services are good or not (though they are, in case you’re wondering), it actually goes much deeper and assesses the overall positive impact the company that stands behind those services is having. Because that’s pretty bloody important, right?

If you’re nodding your head and agreeing with us, you’re right.

If you’re not sure why this granular detail about a company's social and environmental impact is so important, allow us to explain.

Let’s look at a hypothetical scenario. Some companies can claim its product or service is the most eco-friendly out there, and great for the longevity of the planet or supporting people in need. That same company could also see its Board of Directors only flying private, investing in fossil fuels and habitually underpaying its staff. So the shiny, green exterior you see on the outside is not reflected on its internal processes, people or policies.

Sorry, we digress.

Basically in short this certification means that we’re doing good and that somebody else can attest to it.

So yea, we are super proud to be standing shoulder to shoulder with the other 4,000 B Corporations across the globe that are setting the gold standard for businesses making a positive social impact on people and the planet.
